Property Information

Built by Sir Harry Verney in the early 20th century, this wing of Wern y Wylan Court sleeps 8/10 people and is part of a unique hamlet which is a striking example of the Arts and Crafts architectural style. The Arts and Crafts movement was a British design movement that flourished between 1860 and 1910 led by the artist and writer William Morris which stood for traditional craftsmanship using simple forms and often applied medieval, romantic or folk styles of decoration in an anti-industrial statement.

The design of the house features many distinctive aspects of that era combined with careful modernisation to produce stylish and comfortable accommodation.

Puffin IslandĀ ā€“Ā Puffin Island is an uninhabited island off the eastern tip of Anglesey, Wales.Ā AĀ Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), unfortunately it is not possible for visitors to land on the island without permission from the landowner. However if you want to see the birds then the best way is to take a boat trip around the island. Boat trips operate all through the summer with three operators. All boats operate from Beaumaris.

Penmon PrioryĀ ā€“Ā Remains of the priory dating from the thirteenth century, when the house became part of the Augustinian order. The origins of the site are traditionally associated with St Seiriol in the sixth century.Ā Set in a quiet corner of Anglesey along winding lanes. Ā£3.00 to park here also covers travelling further on to Penmon Point with its beach and view of the lighthouse. Ruins of the Priory with full explanations, an old Dovecote and St Seriolā€™s church and a well. Plus some pathways to explore. Wonderful views over the Straights to the Snowdonia range.

Anglesey Coastal PathĀ ā€“Ā The Anglesey Coastal Path is a 200-kilometre long-distance footpath around the island of Anglesey in North Wales.

Penmon LighthouseĀ ā€“Ā Trwyn Du LighthouseĀ is aĀ lighthouseĀ between Black Point nearĀ PenmonĀ and Ynys Seriol, orĀ Puffin Island, at the eastern extremity ofĀ Anglesey, marking the passage between the two islands.

Lleiniog BeachĀ ā€“Ā Lleiniog BeachĀ is mostly sand and shingle, and located at the top north-eastern corner of Anglesey, about 2Ā½ miles north of Beaumaris. This beach is perfectly located for glorious views of the Snowdonian mountains the Great Orme and of passing boats along the Menai Straits. It offers plenty of space on the beach to play around in the sun as well as to explore rock pools and collect a shell or two!

  • Spacious house with lots of character. Immediate response when things needed action. Sightings of red squirrels in garden!

    Oct 2020

  • Booked for a small family get together in advance of Xmas. Beautiful arts & craft house attached one side to neighbors in a small hamlet in the middle of nowhere but 0.5 mile downhill to coastal path and Llanddona beach.
Easy access to key and house.
Oodles of character and very spacious downstairs with log burner in lounge. Good central heating throughout. Great WiFi. Well laid out kitchen and breakfast area. Great fan assisted double oven no issues with cooking a full Xmas dinner. Plenty of plates etc and well equipped
4 good size bedrooms 2 en-suite plus main bathroom albeit shower in there isnā€™t great. But very comfortable beds and plenty of storage.
Garden isnā€™t completely secure for the dogs so taken out for toilet breaks down the lane- torch useful at night as itā€™s pitch black.
Hot tub was great accessed by back stairs and gates out the back. Only issue is that at night the nearest switch for the timed light over the hot tub doesnā€™t work it had to be switched on again from the house. But great little set up.
We absolutely loved staying here completely isolated nearest spar a few miles away.
Booked again for February to return with friends

    Jan 2018

  • Fantastic spacious cottage with stunning views! Will definitely book again. Hot tub was clean and sheltered from the wind, lovely open wood burning stove made it very cosy. Truly one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in.

    Nov 2017

  • Wern y Wylan Court was everything we had hoped for in a beautiful location – perfect for our family get-together. Plenty of space for children and adults and the hot tub was wonderful!

    Aug 2017

  • Wonderful house, location, hospitality, very clean and the hot tub was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend as a group holiday. So much space and kept getting lost with the whereabouts of all the rooms………would love to return.

  • we all loved our stay in this lovely home it was warm and cosy, we will definitely be back. The weather was awful when we stayed but it didn’t ruin our fun at all.

    Dec 2015

  • We had a great weekend. The accommodation was lovely very large but warm and cosy. We eat in at nights and the kitchen was great and well equipped. Would most certainly return.

    Nov 2015

  • Had a lovely stay at Wern y Wylan Court. Everything worked fine and the facilities offered us the flexibility required of 8 people with generously sized dining room, lounge, balcony, bedrooms etc. Lovely garden with hot tub which was a favourite.

    June 2015

  • Enjoyed a week at easter (2012) in this cottage. Cottage is spacious, with 3 good sized bedrooms – we are a family of 5 (children 14, 13 and 9) plus a golden retriever and we had plenty of room. There is a nice outside space to park the car and a private road which was safe for the kids to ride bikes and scooter. Nice big TV with free-view, plenty of seating and dining table for 6. Kitchen has everything you need – big fridge freezer, tumble dryer, washing machine and……most importantly……a dishwasher – all looked almost new when we were there. As for Wales it is the first time we have holidayed in Wales and it was great, loads to do in the local area, castles, some great cycle tracks right next to the cottage (along the river), mountains to climb, Swansea is about 30 mins away and has loads to do and some great coast-line about 30-40 mins drive. There is a large Tesco super market 3 miles away on Ammanford and local shop and pub in Glammanon. Highly recommend cottage and the local area
