Property description

Ground floor

Kitchen
Well equipped recently refurbished kitchen with microwave, induction cooker with electric oven, toaster, kettle, fridge, freezer, pots, pans, tea, coffee. etc. Superb view of the sea from the kitchen. Breakfast barĀ  with 2 bar stools facing the kitchen.

Dining room/Small lounge area.
Open plan space from the kitchen leads to an open plan relaxed sitting area, with a three seater leather sofa, and rattan easy chair, with yet another window with a spectacular view. There is an electric flame effect fire, which is very cosy even with just the flames on for effect. Next to this, and also in the open plan area is the dining table with seating for six. The dining table looks out through patio doors to the sea, and Cemaes Bay beach, so a great view while you eat. The patio doors are very handy for reaching the garden and barbeque spot, or to just open and enjoy the sea air while you eat.

Through the old serving hatch by the table, you get views towards Wylfa head, and a glimpse of the new sea room, which replaced the old conservatory in early 2019. This is now an Ā L- shaped lounge-dining area with a TV/ games area, including a flat screen 48 inch TV with Freeview, surround sound and DVD player. The surround sound also plays iPods, so do bring your music. There is also a coffee table, and a selection of games including Monopoly, Blokus, Chess and playing cards, for any rainy days ā€“ after you have come back from all the rainy-day activities outside of course. Round the corner from this there is a leather corner sofa with amazing views, standing in the new sea room you have over 180 degrees of sea view, watch the video to see what we mean! This room catches the evening sun. A lovely place for a sundowner. From here you can watch for dolphins feeding off the point, the sun dropping into the sea, or the ships cruising across the horizon.

Conservatory
The conservatory catches the evening sun. A lovely place for a sundowner, or supper for 2, if you are not barbequing. From here you can watch for dolphins feeding off the point, the sun dropping into the sea, or the ships cruising across the horizon. There is a tumble dryer tucked away in an alcove of the conservatory. It is simply fitted out with a bar table and bar stools (tall so you can see the view), a raised sofa with foot stools, and a rocking chair. Enjoy.

Entrance Hall
Under floor heating to help dry everything out, great for a wet dog! A fitted cupboard for storage, and the washing machine and tumble dryer are located here.

Bedroom 3 (Downstairs)
Ground floor bedroom that sleeps three in a triple bunk ā€“ a single over lower double bed. There is a bedside cabinet and a set of chest of drawers that provide plenty of clothing storage.

  • We had a great week in this lovely cottage. Magnificent views from every window. Never had such a view from a shower before. Managed to view dolphins from bed one morning. The kitchen was brilliant, not short of anything. Good quality of equipment plenty mugs plates snd glasses best we have ever found. Seating was very comfortable and had lots of choices where to sit. Really appreciated the chair in the entrance hall to sit on to put on my walking boots. Local people were also very friendly and helpful. Our elderly dog surprised us by escaping from the garden. Thanks to walkers on the coastal path he was soon found on the beach. After which we used a hook in the garden to attach his tether. Thank you for the wine and delicious cake. We enjoyed our stay so much we have booked to return next year.

  • Spindrift has it all. Amazing views of the coastline. Short walk into the village center, which has 3 pubs/restaurants, fish and chips, village shop and numerous antique and gift shops. The walk to the harbor is easy to do and the walk up to the church, slightly more challenging for those not liking uphill walks, but the road to it is good. The coastal walkway passes right outside, so it’s easy to join. Spindrift is comfortable and larger than it looks on the inside. Rhian couldnā€™t have been more helpful. We are definitely returning soon

    July 2021

  • Excellent views, handy for coastal walks, suitable for adults, not particularly for small children.well-stocked household equip, even more than we have had before, on many holidays.

    May 2021

  • Absolutely love this place,Came last year and loved it so much. Thought I would book it again but take all my household due to us all being in the dumps with Covid . Everyone absolutely loved it and had a lovely week away in the peace and quiet of Cemaes. Until next time.

    Oct 2020

  • A stunning property in an equally stunning location, the house is very well planned to meet everyoneā€™s needs including our four legged friends, if you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy then Spindrift is definitely it

    October 2019

  • Absolutely majestic place to reside for the week we stayed , The house had all mod cons and the views are stunning. Every evening we just looked out to see until the sun went down. As Arnie says I’ll be back .

    June 2019

  • You cannot fault the location of this property. If you want sea views, you cannot get any better than Spindrift. The house is very family friendly with everything you will need for your break away. Our dog loved the close proximity to the beach and sea. Would definitely recommend this property and we hope to visit again.

    July 2018

  • We have just had the most wonderful few days at Spindrift and already want to return! The house is so homely and comfortable and is in the most amazing spot, literally on the coastal path with beautiful sea views from every window! We had glorious weather so we loved eating in the garden then watching spectacular sunsets. Missing waking up to the sound of the sea!

    July 2018

  • Fabulous house with terrific views shame there wasnā€™t much daylight at this time of year but we still enjoyed every minute including a walk under the very dark sky with brilliant stars. House well kitted out and well appointed, made good use of the great stock of board games for some quality family time. Beautiful area, Can’t wait to come again.

    Feb 2018

  • Lovely holiday home with the most fabulous views ever. Clean and tidy, spacious and well equipped. Comfortable and clean throughout. Shower windows are a genius touch and fun to use with the privacy film. I would thoroughly recommend this holiday home, and we already knew of and loved Cemaes Bay any way.

If I was forced to to make recommended improvements, I would say that the dining table chairs have seen better days, and also we had to call housekeeper on arrival because the key number would not work, she said it had been changed and we had been given the old number. Of course these are minute things and I would definitely return to Spin Drift and tell others to give it a try as well.

    Sept 2017

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Spindrift. A superb peaceful and stunning location, all the amenities were excellent and the hosts were so helpful and accommodating. We would certainly recommend this house to all our family and friends. We intend to return at the end of the year and make this an annual location to visit. Thank you to our hosts once again.

    May 2017

  • This is our second stay at Spindrift. We stayed here last Easter and loved it so much that we booked straight away for this year. The house is excellent. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Comfy beds, plenty of seats and great dining table. We loved the double lounge, with TV area and log burning stove. Excellent kitchen and well equipped for cooking. The position of the house is amazing. Beautiful views from every window. Lovely walks out in every direction. We particularly loved walking across the cliffs to Llanbadrig and the other way round the headland to the two small pebble beaches. Our dog loved the fantastic walks every day. Having been to lots of places on the island, we love Cemaes and find it quieter and with more beautiful walks than the south of the island. We cannot recommend Spindrift enough and will definitely be coming back.

    April 2017

  • Our 4th stay at Spin-Drift. It never disappoints and it’s just like going to your second home. The new patio doors are great! Lovely and warm – ended up lighting the log burner just for effect! Weather was superb – arrived home to find they’d had fog and freezing temperatures, we’d had sun and double figures! What was overwhelming was that when on the beach with my dogs some of the locals recognised us as “The Stokies”!! Very sad to see the bakery had closed, but the cafes were as good as ever. Hopefully, if Sue and Rupert continue to let it out, we’ll be going back for many years to come!

    Jan 2017

  • “Fabulous cottage – extremely well equipped. Location could not be bettered with sea views from every corner. Would definitely recommend – plenty of room for a group or family of 6, 7 or even 8!”

    Aug 2015

  • “yes it was lovely thank you, all fresh and new and a fantastic hallway.
The basket of treats was a lovely surprise thank you very much and the showers were such fun.
Ć¢ā‚¬Ā¦the TV and Internet access was very useful for the children and so was the game selection but the best for me was the hall and the under floor heating which was great area when coming in from the beech all wet and sandy.
The best bit really was sitting in the garden watching the sun set every night without a drip of wind.. it was to die for, I have watched that happen from that bay ALL MY LIFE…Thank you again for a lovely place to stay and hope you dont mind, we moved the bench numerous times oh and the garden man was lovely too”
