Foel Ferry Cottages is a complex of three cottages in a garden ‘courtyard’ setting with ample parking for all. Situated on the Anglesey shore of the Menai Strait in a wonderfully scenic location immediately opposite Snowdon with Caernarfon Castle to the right and the yacht harbour of Y Felinheli to the left.
The three cottages at Foel Ferry, sleeping up to 18 were built with just the coast road and the sea wall separating them from the pebble beach: Arlanfor sleeps 4; Felin Y Foel sleeps 8; Tyn y Foel sleeps 6. They can be booked individually or if available, are perfect for a larger family get together
They stand guard around three sides of a walled garden which looks out over the Strait with a panoramic view of the mountains of Snowdonia. The beauty and tranquility of the surroundings are captivating.
There is plenty for families and children to enjoy. From the cottages, you can stroll along the Menai Strait, take a walk down the old pier (tide permitting), to enjoy hunting for crabs or fishing for something a little bigger. As well as the proximity to the pebble beach and the sea, the Foel Ferry Cottages are only a short walk from two of Anglesey’s main attractions, Anglesey Sea Zoo (with over 150 species on display including sharks, manta rays, a lobster hatchery and a seahorse nursery – there is a café, bouncy castle, crazy golf and pirate’s playground) and Foel Farm Park, Cafe & Chocolate Shop where you can see a real farm at work, meet the animals, go on tractor rides to enjoy the wonderful surroundings.
The Anglesey Riding Centre at Dwyran is only a short drive away and indoor facilities provide a safe environment for beginners while more experienced riders can enjoy trekking alongside the majestic scenery of the Strait.
The Marram Grass Café is not to be missed with its award-winning food before the turn for Newborough. Llanddwyn Beach which is accessed from Newborough Forest is one of the most beautiful beaches on Anglesey, leading to the romantic island of Llanddwyn with its ancient buildings and beautiful setting. The west coast of Anglesey is blessed with a whole series of long, golden beaches backed by tall dunes all the way from Llanddwyn, Aberffraw, Porth Trecastell (Cable Bay) to the attractive beach resort of Rhosneigr, renowned for its windsurfing.
